Is it safe for beginners?
Yes! While it is a mountain hike, the trail via Putri/Cibodas is manageable for beginners with moderate fitness. We walk at your pace. No rushing. Our porters carry the heavy stuff, so you just carry a light daypack.
What about the toilet situation?
At Basecamp, there are proper toilets and showers. On the mountain/campsite, we use a “Nature Toilet” tent setup (private tent with a dug hole), which is standard for hiking. It’s clean and private.
How cold does it get?
Very cold! At night and summit, temperatures can drop to 5°C – 10°C. We highly recommend bringing a warm down jacket (Uniqlo style is fine), gloves, and a beanie. We provide warm sleeping bags.
Is there mobile signal up there?
Surprisingly, yes! Telkomsel usually has a 4G signal at the Surya Kencana campsite and the Summit. You can update your Instagram Story live from the sea of clouds!
What if I get mountain sickness (AMS)?
Our guides are trained in First Aid. We ascend gradually to prevent AMS. If you feel unwell, we have basic medication and oxygen cans. Safety is our #1 priority.
